If your driver's license or state-issued ID expired on or after March 1, 2020, and you are unable to renew at your state driver's license agency, you may still use it as acceptable identification at the checkpoint.

Which is a feature of a valid ID?
An ID must have a state seal to be valid. An ID with split lamination is not valid. ID's containing the words "Official," "Authentic," or "Secure" are not genuine.
Expired ID is not a valid ID. Look carefully at the most commonly altered areas: expiration date, birth date, "Minor Until" date, and the photo. Have a flashlight handy and hold it behind the ID to look for cuts, punch outs, or pin holes.

Proof of Address
The best way to prove your address is by bringing in a current official document with your name and address. Your most recent utility bill, cable bill, credit card statement, or even a cell phone bill should suffice.
Most IDs have something on them called microprint. This is tiny text somewhere on the ID that is extremely difficult to fake. It's what many bouncers look for because if its not there, there is a 0 percent chance the ID is real. Illinois, New Jersey, and Florida all have very distinct microprint on them.
